| The nearest supermarket to the gite is a small Proxi superette less than a mile away, just across the valley in St. Géry. The map below shows how to get to the larger supermarkets, just outside Cahors, where the parking is easy. All offer keenly-priced petrol, as well as the full range of supermarket goods.
Getting into Cahors |
| Follow the road straight up the hill from the gite's parking area, merging left with the road coming up from the village of Pasturat to your right after a mile or so, and then merging right onto the D8 towards Arcambal and Cahors. The road descends through Galessie and into Arcambal, where you turn right at the lights onto the D911, towards Cahors. Follow the D911 into Cahors, crossing 2 sets of traffic-lights at Begoux, a little roundabout just outside Cahors and then another set of lights as you enter the town.

Your choice of supermarkets
 | You will see signs to Intermarché (marked '3' on the map) to the right immediately after entering Cahors. It has the merit of being the closest of the three supermarkets listed here, but is not as large or as comprehensively stocked as the other two. It also closes at lunchtime, unlike Leclerc or Carrefour.

 | To get to Carrefour (marked '1' on the map), follow the D911 through a fourth set of lights, then along the river, with fine views to the cathedral and old town of Cahors to your right, until you come to the little roundabout at the end of the Pont Louis Phillippe, (there's a statue of the virgin Mary looking uncannily like Queen Victoria to your left). Turn left here, following signs for Montauban. Immediately negotiate some more little roundabouts, follow the road round to the left and head out of Cahors on the Route de Toulouse. One more set of lights, then another (larger) roundabout and you will see Carrefour off to your right.

 | To get to Leclerc (marked '2' on the map), swing left at the roundabout at the end of the Pont Louis Phillippe, following signs to Montauban, (do NOT follow signs for the Pont Valentré) and then turn immediately right at the set of little roundabouts. The road is tiny, and leads down to the Hotel La Chartreuse which you can see from the main road. Pass in front of the hotel, follow the river round to the right and you will have a lovely view of the Pont Valentré. Pass the Pont Valentré on your right, merge right with the road leading toward Pradines & Labéraudie, then go straight across the next 2 roundabouts, turning right at the third, where Leclerc is clearly signposted.
