Local Activities
If you want to do more than go sightseeing and laze by the pool, you could always ...
Go for a walk
The gite is surrounded by fine walks, many of which afford
spectacular views over the Lot valley. There are full details, including maps, in the gite. In the woods behind the
gite you may catch a fleeting glimpse of a deer - or a wild boar.
The randonnées-lotoises.net
site describes - with photos - some of the local walks.

Go Canoeing
You can hire canoes at Bouziès (tel.: 0565 35 98 88), just five miles upriver,
or in Cahors itself (tel.: 0565 35 91 59). A favourite with our guests is the local company Kalapca near
St. Cirq Lapopie (tel.: 0565 30 29 51).

Go Horse riding
The nearest stables are just 5 miles away, at Ferme Equestre du Pech Merle, in Cabrerets (Tel.: 0565 24 76 51 or 0611 93 25 23). Almost as close by, in Esclauzels, is the Pompon-Club, "Champ Grand", on 0565 31 78 00 or 0611 59 90 39. Chez Richard et Nanou in Belfort du Quercy, near Lalbenque, some 10 miles from the gite, you can hire a horse by the hour or the day, or take a guided "Rando-bivouac" - an afternoon of riding followed by a night out under canvas(Tel. : 0565 24 72 48).
Go cave diving
Definitely not for the uninitiated, but the region is one of the greatest cave diving areas in the world. Read more
